Capture your world in an artistic booklet!

“An incredibly inspiring and well-organized workshop where everything comes together. The materials, the atmosphere, the guidance, and Marloes’s creativity ensure that you immediately get into the flow yourself. I went home with new ideas, a desire to create more, and the feeling that I touched upon something I want to do more often. Highly recommended.”

Your theme, or the common thread of your book
First, choose a theme that makes you completely wild or, conversely, very calm—for example, insects, spring, your vacation in Greece—or something very abstract such as an insight you gained, your successes from the past year, letting go, love, or adventure. You can also dedicate a mini-booklet to a specific phase or event in your life, or even to a person. Perhaps you already know this theme. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know yet. In that case, you can create a booklet centered around a specific color. Usually, a theme presents tself naturally. In any case, once you have finished your book, you will discover a common thread. You, as the creator, are definitely the common thread!
Pages: you can use everything!
After following this class, you will think twice before throwing anything away. So many things could go for book pages, think of magazine pages, old book pages, old to-do and shopping lists, pre-patterned paper, fabrics, wrapping paper, wall paper and zero waste material like packaging, boxes, tea bags and even the kitchen towels you use to clean your brush (oops, best kept secret!). We paint our selected papers to give all the content of your book the same ‘look’.
Paint with like-minded creatives
Our art journal classroom is a place to meet other creative souls. Each creative project has its own unique process of creating, so has yours. Sometimes you come to a point where you don’t know how to proceed with your canvas. In the digital classroom you can ask your questions if you get stuck, you can give feedback to other students and you can proudly share your final results. Of course, I am also in the classroom to support you when necessary. Together, we bring out the best in each other.
This class is for everyone!
In my studio, both experienced artists and complete beginners have participated in this class. It doesn’t have to be perfect; Everyone has their own pace and growth process. The class invites you to play, try new things and, above all, have fun painting.
“What I liked about the workshop was that it wasn’t about “making things look pretty,” but rather about doing, trying, and building up layers. That immediately gave me space to let go and just go for it.
The explanation was clear and relaxed, and there was enough freedom to really make it something of my own
It was also a really nice discovery for me that I enjoyed using acrylic paint.
Thank you for the inspiration and the lovely workshop!“
